Plz help,
today i ran a virus scan using Antivir Antivirus, and now my friends computer has lost the .pst file. His important emails are no where to be found. Anything i can do to get them back.
It seems that the antivirus deleted his pst file. How can i recover his pst file and his important emails. He hadnt taken backup of his emails for about 4-5 months. He has very very important emails which he requires.
Plz any ideas.

Thanks
Biky

A file Recovery program is one alternative. Imediately remove the hard drive and install it as a slave on a different PC. Two excellent programs are:

Ontrack's 'Easy Recovery Pro' (http://www.ontrack.com)

GetDataBack

I suggest you use data recovery software such as EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard to recover files.

Download demo version: http://www.easeus.com/download.htm

You can use "AdvancedRecovery" to scan your partition. After the scan is complete, the lost file will be displayed in Data Recovery Wizard, you can select them and recover them.

if antivir found them as viruses they may be best left gone as they probably had viruses in them.

antivir is not a highly rated antivirus but still if it found somethign that it says is a virus it probably is an virus...
