Recording audio/memory problems

Hey, I've been trying to copy my vinyl LPs onto the computer. I've figured out how to do it and everything and they have turned out several times very nicely. My only problem now is that Windows 98SE often seems to interrupt the sound recording program and therefore my recordings are full of short interruptions and 'blips'.
Here's what I've been trying: I hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and closed every program that was non-essential (leaving only 'explorer', 'systray', and the recording program). I disabled the screensaver and the anti-virus software. Is there anything else I can do that will make a big difference?

I don't know the program you are referring to but see if it's opions allow you to choose to use your sound card instead of 'Direct Sound' for your recordings.
Summary: In regards to your memory problem, I do know that you must match the type (ie: EDO, SDRAM etc.) and check to see your systems maximum RAM. If it's 128 MB then you can ONLY install a maximum of 128 MB ...
Summary: If you are getting Low on Resources or Out of Memory errors, you have a System Resource problem and NOT a memory problem, as I said above. There is nothing you can do about it except reduce the number...
