I'm receiving email in strange i.e all in charactors eg.VqQAAMAAAAEAAAA//8AALgAAAAAAAAAQAAAAAA.

This looks like uuencoding. Is this found in the main email message or an attachment?
Picture files (jpg, etc) are uuencoded when sent to or received from newsgroups.
This uuencodings looks like random assortments of alpha/numeric characters. If each line begins with the letter M, it is definitely uuencoding. If not, it could still be encoded.
