Reply: (edit)Right click on the desktop. Click on properties then click on settings and see how many colors you have. You really ought to be High 16.

Reply: (edit)Blair do you have a true 32bit setting in your display properties where Jason told you to look? If you do not, this may be your problem. You may need to match the color settings required by your scanner to that of your video card. And yes video cards have different settings on them. I only had high 16/ true color 24/ 256 colors before but a friend gave me a new video card from pc he was pitching. Now I have 16/256/32. So that could be the problem. So even if you don't have the 32bit try settings your colors to highest you have for scanner to recongize it. Another option is to see if you have the most updated driver for you video card. Sounds like that is the root of where you want to be looking.
