I installed two Realtek ethernet cards in both my wife's and my computers. When both systems are up and both are logged in. i can see my computer and file share, my wife can also see my computer and file share. however neither of us can access her computer in Network Neighborhood. I have reviewed all settings, both systems are running windows 98. Mine is a p2 333MHz and my wife's is a p1 233mHz
I am unable to fix the problem with Winhelp and need help. In win help it said that there might be hardware problems, but my computer and be accessed from both...not my wife's.

em.. try to change the access type option in sharing properties to "FULL" and then map the network drive using "Windows explorer" (not IE), for example
your C: drive shared name is mike_C, and your computer name is mike1
then in your wife's computer, map the network drive by using "Windows Explorer".in menu bar click "TOOLS" then "MAP NETWORK DRIVE" then type \\mike1\mike_C
then clikc OK.
make sure that all your computers has sevice called "client for Microsoft network"Good Luck
Wallace

Reinstall both the cards onto the computers but it will ask for a share label. make sure that the labels don't match and the problem should be fixed!

hello
my computer hangs when i have installed the
card driveri have a pentium 2 450 mmx asus p2b
and a 128 live soundkaart

realteck 8029 ethernet card driver donot found in the internet drivers place or site.
Leat me know if your have this driver.
thank you.

I have tryed to install the Realtek Networkcard but i get a message when i start my computer that the the drivers is not properly installd where can i download drivers to Realtek 8029 Ethernet.

I have a Realtek 8029 4 port ethernet card and 3 NE 2000 compatible ethernet cards on 3 other computers.. Problems i am experiencing is the computer with the realtek card does not recognize the other computers and does not even recognise itself in the network neighbourhood.. the other 3 computers (NE 2000 compatible cards) recognize themselves but not each other or the PC with the realtek 4 port (Hub) card..
when i try accessing the network neighborhood on the realtek machine it win98 reports that the network is not accessable..
I have installed it all as microsoft clients n all machines .. enabled file and printer sharing on all machines and the cards all seem to be interfacing with the systems perfectly.. but the realtek machine refuses to recognize the other machines (all win 98) and does not allow recognition of the network on itself.. (i am using IPX protocals as well as TCP/IP for internet sharing)..
any help is appreciated.. (i am on verge or a HDD reformat and a windows re-install)

try assigning an ip adrress manually to the wifes computer and then installing a gateway in her tcp properties to your computer.
installing a gateway works for my 2 8029's
