When I boot my computer I get message referring to a number of realmode files being missing or corrupted.

Where can I go to access these files and download to my pc?

thanks!

Hi Rob,

The realmode drivers are being loaded via the autoexec.bat and config.sys files.

These are not needed for Win98.

They may be needed if you are running games or other programs in Dos.

Post back with the contents of your autoexec.bat and config.sys files and also if you shutdown to dos to run any programs.

Hi Rob,

Rename autoexec.bat and config.sys to
autoexec.old and config.old.

Another method would be to click on Start and Run.

Type msconfig and click OK.

Select the General Tab at the top.

Uncheck autoexec.bat and config.sys.

Select Apply.

You will be prompted to restart the computer and should no longer receive the messages.
