What read speed should I put my cd writer on? The read speed goes up to 24x.

I changed the write speed to 2x for better quality. The write speeds are 1x, 2x, and 4x.

You can't set the read speed. Only the write speed.

Yeah, read when ready to burn. It's an external HP cd writer drive.

Actually it has an option to set the read speed at those speeds that I listed.

I'm sorry, the read speed is an option for Direct CD which works with my cd writer.
