Re post keyboard error

My keyboard appears to be set up for a different language,but when I go to conrol panel/keyboard and then language I get the message old style k/board driver detected pane disabled. When I click ok to exit I get the message --cannot delete the system locale.Running Win 98. Any help appreciated

The registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\control\keyboard layouts" is corrupt or missing.
I had the same problem, but luckily I had an old win95 registry export lying around!
So, I deleted the above key from the registry and imported the key from my old export.
If you don't have the values to hand, I could always send mine on to you (reply off-line to my email address)
