I fixed the problem, i upgraded from 98 to XP like i intended and it must have installed the drivers i need because ive got a choice of 16/24bit colour, and i can adjust my screen resolution..im in my glory! thanks to all that helped =)

Yep, I gather XP has a stack more drivers than W98 (much more up-to-date drivers too obviously). I don't think I was involved with your problem but whatever, thx for popping back to let us know. DerekW

Sure - I think we'll stop trying to answer these 9x problems and just have a banner at the top of the page urging folks to give up and install XP. Sounds a great deal simpler Science is built up with facts, as a house is with stones. But a collection of facts is not more a science than a heap of stones is a home
