Maybe you only erased the link to the actual file?

C:\Program Files\Accessories\Wordpad.exe

.. is where it resides. If it truly is gone, you can extract a copy from your CD by running the SFC tool

Why don't they make computers that will do what we think we want them to do?

Hi jboy.

I love the homepage you have listed in this thread ...lol

Unforunately, it doesn't go with your 'help anyone ... anytime ... anyplace' demeanor,
as countless folks, including myself, can attest too.

You are one of a kind 'jboy and the forum is much better because of it.

Have a great holiday and a safe and happy New Year!

Thanks and regards,

Phil

Aw, Phil - thanks, you're far too kind - I'm but one of the many here who contribute. Good questions make it easier to come up with good answers, too.

Not really a 'Scrooge', just doing my part to dilute some of the saccharine of the modern, commercialized Christmas event. All in fun.

Happy Holidays to you & yours, as well as everyone here @Computing.Net

Wordpad can also be re-added through Control Panel, Windows Setup, then Accessories. (Choose Show Details and it will be listed as a component.) You'll need the 98SE cdrom handy if the files from same haven't been copied to your HDD.
