I purchased a PS/2 mouse port/card for my computer & connected to the PS/2 pins on my motherboard. I enabled it in the bios, installed the drivers, but still can't get it to work! I had been using this mouse with an adaptor on the serial port, but would like to free this up to use a digital camera. Help. I don't know what I am doing wrong. I removed and unistalled all "mice" from windows & rebooted so that it would detect the PS/2 mouse port, which it did. But when I try to use the mouse or install mouse drivers it doesn't work. Thanks for any help.

I am assuming the port card has a ribbon cable comeing off of it and goes and coonects to the mo bo. If this is correct, you might try taking the cable off and switching it around. Also, and this is the most likely case, there is a good possibilty that the mouse just will not work with the PS2 port or the the cabling on your PS2 port is just not compatable with your mo bo. I have seen this type of situtaion before.
A generic adapter is jsut that...It will work in some case but not in all...
Hope this helps...

Thanks. That is probably what it must be. The mouse works fine with a serial adaptor. I will try purchasing a port from the MB manufacturer.
