I have a monitor whose light is green and keeps blinking rapidly. The computer attached to the monitor was turned off and on with no change. I connected the computer to another working monitor and it worked. I therefore thought it was the monitor. I replaced the monitor and connected the computer to it and it did the same thing.(this is in a classroom with 30 computers) I therefore thought it was the cubicle, and tried connecting that computer and monitor to electrical outlets near that cubile and it still did the same thing.
This computer is in a classroom lab.
The monitor started blinking green rapidly. Turning the computer off and on made no difference. The computer was tried with a different monitor and it worke

do you mean that little green light that stays on when the monitor is on?
that light will blink when the pc is off on some monitors, on some it will just change color and dim a bit...is this what you're talking about? If so, then it's nothing to worry about, you could hit the power button on the monitor to turn that blinking light off as well then the pc is off...
hope this helps...and if not, then this reply never happened

You've tried different outlets but have you tried a different power cable? It sounds like a power supply problem. Normally I'd think it was internal to the monitor but since it happens with other monitors, maybe it's the cable.

plz i badly need help with my monitor or comp as well. got same prob. even the comp is on, my monitor still doesnt work instead it keeps blinking (the green light that stays steady when comp is on). i dont know how to troubleshoot because i cant get to connect to the internet, and even turn on the monitor. i tried turning comp on and off, turning monitor on and off.. i dont know what else to try. thanks in advance.

If you swap the monitor with a known good one (or put your monitor on a known good computer) you can determine if the problem is with the monitor or the computer. That would be a first step.
