I'm still using Quicken 4.0 on my PC. The HDD crashed hard, forcing me to buy a new one, and reinstall Quicken. Luckily, I had the foresight to have a backup (.QB1, .QB2). However, Quicken chokes when I try to restore it. It won't seem to repopulate my accounts or the data in the accounts. Am I missing something? Is going with the latest version going to make the restoration process any easier? Is there a cocatenated .qbxxx file that is created when a restore is performed that I can use? HELP!!!!

Restore into the same version of Quicken you origionaly had...Then upgrade... If you move to a newer version of Quicken, you need to have your data intact, then upgrade as Quicken has changed the data format a couple of times...
Doesnt quicken back up save its files as QDATA.QDF? How did you get *.QD1? BTY: When backing up switch media at least everyother, for instance, use one floppy one time, and different the second.
