Heather, If the item below is what you are seeing in the Startup List you can uncheck it.
LoadQM loadqm.exe Loads the MSN Explorer Query Manager - a waste of resources and bandwidth. Also installed by the latest version of MSN Messenger. Note that disabling this can sometimes prevent internet sharing working on Win2K Pro SP2.

It's something weird from Primate Software, called Monkey. Here's their FAQ's:
Unless you are interested then dump it. See if there is a pucker uninstall somewhere (like Control Panel/Add-Remove), if not it's a case of binning qm.exe and anything else that it is to do with it. My guess is that qm.exe is all there is and there probably won't be a proper uninstall.

Got the name wrong it's called "Quote Monkey". If you do a Google search for qm.exe you will discover how I found out about it - very useful search engine!

It could be related to Queue Manager which is used by scanning software bundled with software programs for faxing. Google searched the web for qm.exe. Results 1 - 10 of about 40. Search took 0.13 seconds
