Just started getting this message when I boot win98se. The message appears after my desk top loads. I am also unable to use win fax pro now. Message is "Qagent--this proram has performed an illegal operaqtion. What is Q agent??? Any ideas as to what happened. Had previously installed 128 more mb of pc133 memory for a total of 384 meg of memory. I am running an AMD athelon 800.Had no problems until now. Removed the memory I had previously installed and still get message. Thanks
Let's not get all paranoid here. First question, do you use Quicken? If so, go to Start/Run and type MSCONFIG. In the Startup Tab look for Qagent. Uncheck it. That should stop your problem.
Qagent is a TSR program installed by Quicken. There may be other programs out there named Qagent and, if you don't use Quicken then I would look into ??? response.

I use quicken 2001 for windows and have recently loaded Windows Me. Through investigation (Selective startup) I found that Qagent.exe (which is found in the quicken directory) is causing my system not to shut down properly.
