putting Win98 on laptop,is HARD?!!?

i am trying to load win98 on a laptop that recently had win NT on it, does this cause me a problem as it is really hard to try and figure out what to do, cause i have tried and tried and tried to get it to work but nothing is happening.

Did you do a "Clean install" or you are trying to install it over the NT OS?

i reformatted the whole of the laptop, about 5times now, lol, and still it wont let me load up windows 98 from the cdrom??

Is the drive partitioned as NTFS?
Go to fdisk and select option #4, display partitions, and see what File System is being used.

Try to remove the NT partition first.Use the program delpart.exe from a boot disk dos prompt. Go to http://www.russelltexas.com Use fdisk and create one C primary partition set active. Use format C: to prepare the system installation: use the setup.exe to start the installation. Good luck.

thats the thing, where do i get that from like? cos we cant even get into dos, otherwise i would say that we could do it from there like!!
