Do you want to host a SERVER?

DO you have an always connection?

Maybe FTP?

Or maybe your ISP would HOST a small file a 2 for you if you ask, or maybe for a small fee, as it really depends upon how content and bandwidth your visitors will be sucking up.

First you have to upload the mp3-file to wherever your homepage is hosted - then in the sourcecode of your page you put:

no i mean, i want ppl to be able to download a .pdf file, so they download it to there HDD, rather than having them open it in there broswer.

so all i want them to do is click on the link, then a download box opens up, and then they can click on save to file or sumet, and it saves and downloads to there computer??

does anyone have any script of HTML that i can use to make this?? or somewhere where i can read about it and it will then tell me how i can do it?

Cheers
G

pdf's media files tend to open in the viewer or player. You can instruct them to right click save target as or you can zip the file and let them download the zip.

careful with downloads. If your using free space they might shut you down for breaking some rule and if your paying for space you might exceed your bandwidth and find your site shut down a week into the month.

I have to agree with ShutMeUpOrDown. There are rules and regulations about downloads and files you store on your servers. Expecially pertaining to mp3's. I suggest checking to see you are not breaking any rules first, then as ShutMeUpOrDown has stated and zip up your files, then upload them to your site. In the zipped format when you click on it, it will give you 2 options:
open from this site, or to download.

So after you have checked the rules like ShutMeUpOrDown and Terri pointed out, your HTML code would be:
