Hello, I have a computer at home that is a Windows 98 and I dont use it since its the one that my kids use. I noticed that after every start up it asks me if I want to publish my webpage. This computer isnt hooked up to the new and my kids (ages 5&8) dont publish webpages-they just paly kids games. I searched everywhere to find the program that would allow me to turn the request off but have been unable to locate. Does anyone know of this web publishing request (must be from one of the Win 98 softwares already installed). I also ran Spybot, Ad-Aware & AVG and it found over 500 "spy" things installed but after defragmenting I'm still getting the option to publish my webpage.

Try CWShredder too.

Type msconfig in the Run box and see if it gets a mention in StartUp tab.

Hi y'all

If it's the Microsoft Web publisher, you can uninstall it from Add-remove/windows-setup..

I agree. It's probably the Web Publishing Wizard that's been run at sometime. It's under Start, Programs, Internet Tools. It will create new folders to "house" the pages created by it. I don't remember where or what they're named as I haven't used it in a couple of years. If it's on the system, remove it as beansoup suggested. (Control panel, Add/remove Programs, etc).

Thanks for the replies. I wasnt able to find it in Add/Remove panels but I did find it in msconfig and I unchecked it. Now no more frivolous request after start up to publish a webpage that was never intended. Thanks guys.
