ptsnoop.exe is a trojan, go to yahoo search and type in ptsnoop.exe for a search and look at the results of your search.

it does nothing but lock up your pc.
run sysedit and look for ptsnoop.exe.
when you find it put a ; in front of the line. You modem and pc do not need it

I have that file on on my system win98, i've had it since the day i bought it and could never figure out what it was. I'll check out some of these links.. Cool! Also if your running win98 you could disable it by useing msconfig, which i did long long ago.. hehe ..

ptsnoop.exe
is a partition diagnosis tool ,it has nothing to do with a trojan,or a virus.As a matter of fact if you get rid of it most likely you will be more open for attacks,as this executable file comes with win98.
