My problem is that when I start windows 98 my "program" window is always there. This really slows the computer down. Help!

I'm not the brightest thing around but sorry, what do you mean by your "program window", do you mean Windows Explorer?

go to START/run type in MSCONFIG go to startup tab and uncheck anything resembling that program! but leave scan disk /systray and pwrprofile alone!
