I installed an older program(5.2) over a later program(5.6) now can only see newer (5.6)program in add/remove list and neither works. It will not be removed from the add/remove program, nor the windows uninstll program nor can I find it in my registry!. Yet there it is, on my add remove program so am afraid to try to reinstall.Help!!I have been told to reinstall Windows 95 but afraid am not up to THAT!! Is there any other way?

gander8, To remove that entry from your Add/Remove Program list download and install TweakUI version 1.33 from the TweakUI link below my name(Homepage:). Read the instructions on how to install it since it's different then any normal install. The link also is a good tutorial for using TweakUI and yes, this version is compatable with Windows 95. If that program(5.2 or 5.6) is nowhere to be found on your computer and is only listed in the Add/Remove listing there's no need to reinstall Windows 95. Did you do a thorough search for whatever 5.2 or 5.6 including Program Files? Hope this helps.

gander8, If the program you're trying to remove is Ad-aware it's listed under your Program Files as "Lavasoft Ad-aware".

I'm sure TweakUI works fine, but I recently got this (very) small program which single purpose is to remove 'dead' program names in the add/rem box. I got it from a CD, so I don't know where to download it. It's called Remove (package remove.exe). It also requires two drivers (a visual basic dll and some OCX file which has to be downloaded separately). Anyways, If you can't find this for download, mail me and I'll send it over.
