I have just bought a PowerLeap 1.4Ghz processor but when I installed it nothing happens after the Ram count in fact it does'nt even count the ram, mind you it said that it might not in the instructions. The Hard Dive working light remains fully lit for about a minuit then goes out and thats it. It also mentions that if I have a soundblaster card which I have (awe 64 value ) I may need to upgrade the driver but this does not seem to be available on their site.
It suggests that I should change jumper settings from auto to manual which I have not tried.
My i440BX MoBo runs at 66mhz is this fixed or can it be changed as the instructions only mention 100 and 133 mhz, however saying that upgradestore.co.uk have told me that everything should be fine plug it in and away I go, upgrade the BIOS if problems arise. Can anybody help me as to which BIOS I should down load for my i440BX-W977 MoBo with intel i440BX/ZX chipset. In fact has anybody any blistering ideas to help me rectify this glitch or has anybody gone through anything similar. Regards M

it ain't gonna work , even with a flash of the bios, and 99% percent of home flashes destroy the motherboard, so it won't boot.
someone has fed you fulla bull.
take the cpu back, or get the proper motherboard to handle it!!!!!!!!!1

The Powerleap processors are not compatible with all motherboards. Did you check their web site to see whether your board and BIOS were compatible?

I have a QS440BX motherboard with Pentium II and upgraded with the Powerleap 1.2GHZ processor and adapter. I have a Bios upgrade from Unicore.com. It's been performing perfect for over 1 year. I just plugged in the upgrade and booted. That was it.
It could be the 1.4GHZ processor is not compatible with your motherboard. I tried that one first and my computer would shut down after the memory count even with the bios upgrade. I contacted Powerleap and was advise to return it and get the 1.2GHz.
The bios upgrade was simple to install too. Go to there site at Unincore.com for more information.
I'm very happy with Powerleap. I'm in the process of purchasing another upgrade for another computer.

"99% percent of home flashes destroy the motherboard"
What is the source of that statistic? Sorry, kkk, I don't agree.

Kkk, I have to agree with dave01. I've performed a couple dozen BIOS Flashes, & never had a problem.
If the directions are followed EXACTLY, there normally isn't a problem, though if a problem should occur, it can render the motherboard useless, requiring either a new BIOS chip or a new MB.
