I am building a retro game machine because XP won't run all of my old games. I am running an Elsa Gladiac 2 MX with VIVO and outputing to a TV for the monitor. I finally got the thing working with 50.xx series Detonator drivers. The windows games work, but when I go to play a DOS game, the screen turns black and there isn't a picture unless you Alt+TAB back to Windows. Do you know of any settings that will enable me to get a picture in DOS?

I do not think it will as when you shell out to MSDOS Command Prompt it looses the ability to use the TV-out driver built into the Detonator Driver.
I found a website, MS-DOS6.22 and compatible, where at a basic level on a boot floppy he was able to output to TV, but as soon as MS-DOS was installed on a HDD it lost the output.
...and I quote:
"Graphic Cards with S-Video Out may be able to output a signal to a TV, with the latest ATI Radeon 7000AGP 4x Card was able to use a Hitachi TV with S-Video front port as a monitor, fortunately 'autodetection of input source' is a standard feature, though it would only work when booting from a floppy disk. AverMedia External Convertors will enable a TV to be used as a Monitor."
Summary: I have a laptop (Dell Inspiron 5000) with TV-Out port. I connect the patch cable to my TV and can see the desktop fine, when I try to run a video from windows media player 9, I see the player fine on...
Summary: jill, first go to Asus web site and make sure you have the most recent drivers they have there. as well these cards can not tell if TV is pluged in.you just have to have it plugged in before you enabl...
