A friend has this old laptop that had win95. We installed Win98se and it had several problems. She asked that I just erase everything and start over. So I formatted c and put the 98 boot disk in A...now all I get is "no partition" then prompt sits on A: and won't see the cd-rom or c. I can play on the floppy all day...nothing else. What is the best solution? Oh, and the laptop do not have internet access yet. Pleeeease help. PoftheU

Older versions of 95 wouldn't recognize FAT32 (large) drive partitions - you said you're using a 98 bootdisk - is that right?? What version of 95 is involved?
Run fdisk and select (4) to view partition information and see if the drive is FAT16 or FAT32
CD-ROM access from DOS requires that the drivers be loaded - many bootdisks available that do that
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
