Problem with Netscape 4.61

I recently downloaded Netscape 4.61 and had a problem putting in my server infomation to receive e-mail and news. It will not accept or recognize the information and will not even propt the screen. What can I do? I have contacted my server and looked in netscape for troubleshooting but have not gotten an answer. Please help!!!

Hi David:It sounds simply like your Netscape was somehow corrupted when you downloaded it.On that large a download (12-18 Meg ?? ) it's not unheard of for one of the files to get processed wrong.It doesn't take very much.Part of Netscape is probably calling up a certain executable extension and that file is messed up.Of course,the answer is to simply download it again and try it.A much better way is to find or borrow a version of netscape on disk (Any version will do),install it and then go on line to netscape and let them "update" it.It's usually much faster and easier.
