Reply: (edit)If the XP Cd is a full version, or even an upgrade disk... there should be no other CD required. Although if it is an upgrade CD it may (wil) ask for proof of previous/compliant OS in the early part of setup/upgrade. This can be satisfied by offering a '9x(ME) CD or any other compliant OS CD. To get back to '98 again... Boot with a '98 bootdisk and reformat the drive. If you were trying to get XP in as ntfs you may first have to delete the ntfs partition, then reconfigure the partition(s) and then reformat (as fat32); afterwhich continue with '98 setup as per norm. But back to your initial problem... what type of XP CD do you have; and what is the second disk for which it (setup) asks?
