Recently I've found that when I click on links to jpg files online, my web browser seems to ignore them. The ones that would usually open in another window do open the window, but the address bar remains completely blank and nothing appears to happen. Cutting and pasting the address into the address bar has absolutely no effect. Jpg files I've saved on my PC open without a problem, its only the files I'm trying to view on the internet. As far as I remember, I haven't installed/uninstalled anything to do with graphics recently, and I've run a full virus check with no result. Any ideas, anyone? I've been scouring the internet for ideas but they all seem to refer to not being able to preview jpg files, not internet links that don't work.
I'm using Windows 98 Second Edition, and Internet Explorer 6. I'd be grateful for any ideas. :)

What browser are you using? IE? If you are using Internet Explorer, go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Click on IE, then the Add/Remove button, choose the option to fix IE.

The below Microsoft knowledgebase article specifically covers "Not being able to preview pictures" It covers repair information. Good luck

Thanks...I'd looked at the Microsoft Knowledgebase article before, doesn't really seem to deal with the same problem to be honest. It may possibly all have become academic - I tried running the fix utility for Internet Explorer and when rebooted found the mouse pointer jumping all over the place, rebooted again and now my computer seems to flip a coin as to whether it decides it has a mouse or not. I'm probably going to try reinstalling Windows from scratch as the mouse was fine an hour ago...evil, evil computer.

Likely causes:
Your temp internet files folder is full- empty it.GoTo Tools/Options and click on the advanced button, remove the tick from "Do Not Save Encrypted pages to disk" option.
