I want to burn a program which it's size 825mb.
I bought a cd which can burn 900mb but the problem that when I wanted to burn the program with nero burning software I got a MSG : (there is not enough space to burn this complication onto this disk). but the disk can burn 900mb and the software is 825mb.
what is the proeblem maybe the cdwriter can't understand more than 700mb or the windows can't recognise between 700 or more than it ?

I will be glad if you could help me

Hi

I think you have answered it correctly. More than likely your cd writer. 900MB cdrs are non standard, and you will have to check your cd manual to see if it supports this type of media.

Have you considered compessing the file and burning the compressed file. Some unzip programs will allow you to run a file within a compressed archive.(zip)

Hi Nizar.
It could be that you don't have enough room on your hard drive for Nero to store the files before burning your CD.
Have a nice day Nizar.

go to options on Nero nd set allow overburn, as 900mb is more than nero allows as standard.

the option is in file/expert features.

also in file/general you can change the position of the yellow and red markers

hi
thx for your help but none of them solve my problem.
I will begin with Woof: I know that overburn I did this but the same problem thanks for your advise.

Oldhobo: thanks i think that if the nero didn't find room to store the files in the hard disk it will give another meesage error
I think that the problems is not from hardisk (room). thanks for your advise

anenefan: thanks how can i check my cd manual to see if it supports this type of media?

Hi

I tried, but nada. Sony website once again reminded me why I don't want another sony. I'm not too sure, but their site was better a couple of years back, than it is now.

Had a look at the crx230ad/u (the closest thing I could get). In the brief page it did not metion the 900MB format.

From Nero Help file:
Quote
12.4.1.5 Overburning a CD

1. First check whether your recorder can overburn or not. From the Recorder menu, choose the item Choose Recorder and select your recorder from the list. You will find information about whether the recorder supports overburning in the recorder information box.

2. Activate the overburn option within Nero. From the File menu, choose Preferences and then click on the Expert features tab.

Activate the checkbox which allows overburning and specify the maximum CD length. In theory you can choose any size up to 99 minutes and 59 seconds. Initially you should enter a length 2 minutes longer than the specified capacity. If SCSI/ATAPI errors occur at the end of the simulation or burning process, we recommend that you reduce the maximum overburn capacity or use a different make of CD. If no errors occur, you can gradually increase the overburn capacity.

3. Click on OK to confirm the change and close the dialog box.

This setting will have the following effect on the burning process:

If the amount of data to be burnt is larger than the normal capacity of the blank CD, but less than the maximum overburn capacity, Nero will ask at the beginning of the burning process whether you really want to overburn. If you answer yes to this question, Nero will start the burning process. If you answer no, the burning process will be aborted because there is not enough space on the destination CD.

I should have listed the following first.

Nero Miscellaneous • 112
12.4.1.1 What is overburning?

The number of minutes of music or megabytes of data which will fit on the disc is printed on every blank CD. You can check the capacity of your disc using the Medium-Info item on Nero's Recorder menu. When you overburn a blank CD, the size of the disc is ignored by Nero and data is written to the disc beyond the specified capacity. It is clear that ignoring the capacity of the disc entails a certain amount of risk.

This applies both to 74 and 80 minute CDs. In addition the CD standard contains a restriction which states that there are no CDs available with a capacity larger than 80 minutes. This means that all CDs are seen by Nero as 80 minute CDs even if they are sold by the manufacturer as, for example, 99 minute CDs. You can only write 99 minutes of audio to the CD by overburning.
End quote
