problem with adara scanner + zip drive

Got an iomega parallel port 250 zip drive for christmas. Daisy chained it in front of my Adara Starlight I scanner. Win95 operating system. When the zip drive is in the chain, it is recognized but the scanner is not. When the zip is removed, the scanner is recognized. Iomega user's manual suggests an updated driver for the scanner but Adara appears to be out of business. Wondering whether the scanner and zip drive are using the same SCSI ID number but don't know how to change either one. Any advice? Thanks
