I have an older PC using win98 ver 4.10.2222(?) that has a 6Gb HD now with the OS. My regular PC with XP is broken and I wanted to copy certain data to a 60Gb drive and use on the win98 PC. The 6Gb is FAT32 and the 60Gb is NTFS format. Cannot get Win98 to recon the new drive. Can I convert the 6Gb to NTFS without losing data and win 98 use both drives? Is there an easy solution?

Win98 cannot access NTFS drives. I'm not sure if that answers your question.

There is supposed to be some software that allows 98 to see an NTFS partition. I didn't save that thread but maybe someone will post back with the info.
However, seeing the partition and copying from it are two different things. So it might not do you any good.

Response 1 about sums it up. I guess I can't access my data on the second drive as I had hoped until my other PC is fixed. Thx..

The program DAVE spoke of will let you read only (free version).
Setting up a dual boot system will allow you to use SP and 98 on the same machine but your Dell would barely perform running XP
