my problem is that I am running dos and the printer is not working with dos .my running system is windows 98. so what printers do work with dos ? what divers do i need for it and what port does goes on ? thank you

So you have a dual-boot with DOS and Windows 98? How is the printer physically connected? Did you look on HP's site to see if they have drivers for DOS for your particular printer? EEOC

You should change your printer cable. Connect the printer with a new cable to the computer and then check.

Many printers will not work in DOS as they rely on Windows to do most of the work for them. Check the manufacturer's site for DOS drivers, if available. If you don't mind my asking, why do you need to print in DOS?
