Can anyone tell me how to run the printhead cleaning cycle on a canon bjc 2100 printer, the print has lines running through it. Thanks.....

Hi Heather.
The Canon site has a user manual for download but it is 9.4 MB big and I don't know if you can download that large a file so I downloaded it and got the directions from it.
If you can download the user manual here is the link -
http://www.usa.canon.com/html/conCprDriversTypeSystemV2.jsp?section=null&t=10001&m=10033&group_id=-1&type=Software&prodref=PS&subtype=Software&level2catq=AllCats&modelid=7960&item=7968&pname=BJC-2100#prguideman
For cleaning the Heads -
Open the Printer Properties -Start
Settings
Click on Printers
Right click on your printer's icon
Choose - Properties
Click - MaintenancePrint Head Cleaning - click on the Icon
OK
repeat if necessary
Also run the Nozzle Check -
Open the Printer PropertiesClick - Maintenance
Test Printer - click Icon
OK
Repeat if necessary
I would run the head cleaning first followed by the Nozzle Check 2nd and do it again until the heads become unclogged. It may take several repetitions.
Take care,Linda

Thanks for your response, I don't have the capabilities to do the nozzle check, and print cycle on my computer, I already tried as per the manual instructions. But do you know any way I can clean the actual printhead. Can I soak it or wipe it with a solution? Thanks....

It may be that the print head is worn.
I don't know that particular printer, some have separate print heads, others are built into the ink cartridges.
Derek

Go to Canon's website or google and do a search for your printer make and model's utilities.
I got my canon utility from there. Or go into your Start button - then -printers folder- right click on your installed canon printer and come down to properties. This usually gives you the options .... such as clean print head.
