Dear 10010011,
10010110!! 01000110 10111011 11111100 01100101...Okay, enough of the binary...here's my problem. On my computer, I am currently trying to install a Lexmark x75 all-in-one printer. Whenever it installs, it comes up with an error message while it is doing the printer portion saying:
Lexmark X74-X75
This printer could not be installed. Quit all programs, restart Windows, and then try again. If the problem persists, contact your system adminstrator. Then the installation just stops. Whenever I just Printers in control panel, it doesn't list anything..I've tried everything I can think of. I've uninstalled/reinstalled. Started up in diagnostic mode from msconfig. Made sure there were no programs running. Go the clean utility from lexmark, then reinstalled. I've also looked in every file (including registry) on my computer for lexmark and deleted or removed the entry based on the file. I've installed this printer onto another system, and it installs just fine, so it's not the printer. Any help is much appreciated =D

Hi TechQuest.
There are 2 things I would try.
Make a folder on your desktop and copy your Lexmark cd to it.
Then try installing the drivers from your hard drive instead of the CD.
If that doesn't work keep the folder with the Lexmark drivers on your desktop.
Boot into Safe Mode - Hold down the F8 key when you see the cursor blinking in the upper right corner of your screen.
Choose Safe Mode from the menu.
Then install the Lexmark driver from the folder on your desktop.
Reboot into Normal Mode.
Take care,Linda

Thnx a lot for the advice Linda, however, right after I posted this msg, I noticed that I forgot to post the cpu frequency for it. I went into msinfo32 ("System Information") where I got an error msg. It referred to MSVCIRT.dll linked to missing MSVCRT.dll. I did an sfc on both files and rebooted. System Information yet again worked. Since MSVCRT is an important windows file, I decided to check the printer again and voila! It worked!!
POST SOLVED!
Solution
$$$$$$$$
Run an sfc on the files MSVCRT.DLL and MSVCIRT.DLLL
Reboot=-=-=TQ
