Print Queue Window incorrect data

Whenever I print, all is fine except that the number of pages already printed in progress field of Print Queue Window increases irratically (eg. 4, 10, 23, 37, etc.) Number of total pages to be printed is correct. The number of pages already printed is arbitrary, not necessarily the same as shown above. Printer is USB HPG85xi.

The printer may have a buffer that is storing the data.

Yeah, the 'pages printed' figure is the number of pages sent to the printer and is not necessarily the same as the number of pages spit out by the printer.
