Primary Master Hard Disk Error

My pc cannot start. It says primary master HDD error. There is a message "Primary Master Hard Disk C: A1M.1510 QUANUUM10901 ! ! ! ! Then it asked me to run setup utility and press F1 to resume. After pressing the F1 key I get the message DRIVE NOT READY Insert boot diskette in A: Press any key to continue
Howdy, Well do ya have a boot disk? If not get one. You can boot from the A: drive and might be able to access the C: drive and get at you're data files but who knows. If you aren't sure about any of this take it to a tech, it might not be the hard drive. It could be the motherboard or a bad IDE cable. Another hard problem to diag via the net.

Thanks for the tips but I finally figured out. Just have to go to bios and detect my primary master and save the configuration.

doesn't say primary master hard drive error. It just says C drive error. Is C drive error the same as primary master hard drive error?

Where can I buy affordable (2nd hand) hard disks?
