primary ide controller(dual fifo)

Hello sir! I'm having problem with primary ide controller(dual fifo).In device manager it is shown with exclamation mark.In properties it shows problem code 10. But it works fine with window2000&XP. My primary slave-cdrom drive is not detected by window 98. bye

First try removing all the IDE controllers in device manager. Then reboot. See if they're configured right then. If that doesn't do it try installing a chipset driver update.
Did you install or uninstall any software or hardware prior to having the problem?
The missing cdrom is due to the problem with the controllers. When that's fixed your cdrom should show up again.

my comp suddenly run out of RAM after an hour of surfing the net, so i checked around and on my performance TAB it says its using ms-dos compatibility mode! and there's a yellow exclamation mark on my primary IDE controller (dual fifo). i formatted my computer and installed windows 98 II ed. and the problem persists! please help its driving me crazy!

Depending on how new your motherboard is, you may need to install the chipset drivers for it to work right.
