Hello,

I just wanted to merge two FAT32-Partitions with Partition Magic. But PM crashed before it was complete. Now there is a PqRS Partition instead of the two FAT32-Partitions. I just tried to repair it with EasyRecovery but it didn't work. I also tried to set the FAT32 parameter in the Partition table with PTEDIT.exe nut it also didn't work.
Does anybody of you know how to solve this Problem?
I don't want to format and reinstall, because there are so many programs to install and some gigs MP3s that are not backed up yet ;-).

THX for your help

If you are really desperate you could try Ontrack's 'Easy Recovery Pro' (http://www.ontrack.com) or PowerQuest's 'Lost and Found' (http://www.powerquest.com)

you could probably just download a good mbr(master boot record)-editor, and if you are lucky, you just have to edit the id of the partition to fat32 or ntfs or whatever it was. if you just extended the partition at the end it hopefully will work...

Just happened to me too. If you stick the drive in another computer as a slave, Windows can read and write from the drive.

PqRP is just whatever format it was in before (in my case NTFS) but in raw hex.

So, I'm backing up the files onto another harddrive in another computer and then I will format the drive.

Just yesterday partition magic crashed
when it was adding 1 gb to my linux partition, from the 10 gb windows part.
with apps,music,work files.......(!!)
Now i really don't know what to do,given
that when i see the list of the files of the PqRP with the programs they are like "?>''a'<'" and i'm really not able to do something.I used linux
but the result is the same, garbage, garbage and garbage. What can i do??
