I just bought a 16X dvd player. I am running windows 98 on a Pentium 2 400Mhz w/256Mb RAM. I Installed everything that came with it and can't watch DVD's. I can play CD's & CDR's but not DVD's. I keep getting the same error message. "Power DVD does not support the current display mode. DDraw overlay mode is the recommended mode. To restore it try:
1. Close other video Applications that are using ddraw resources, or 2. Lower the resolution, color depth, and/or refresh rate, or 3. Update to the latest MSDirectX Runtime and to the latest display driver." I downloaded MSDirectX Runtime .... messed around with my resolution ...... nothing has helped. CAN YOU? Please?

I had the same problem with PowerDVD, I just set my display properties to 256 colors when that msg appeared and then watched the movie.

Now I use Leadtek WinFastDVD that came with my GF4 Ti4400 so I don,t have to worry about that prob anymore.
