If you have amibios one beep means refresh failure.if you have another bios type go to their web site and check their beep codes.

It may be that you have a problem with your motherboard. Possibly it is not detecting the ram and that is why it works in another machine. I take it that you probably have tried everything else, like reseating everything(inc CPU) also trying the machine with as much out as possible ie Only graphics card pluged in no floppy or HDD. The bitch with this is that you it is more or less trial and error. You can try everything else on another machine until you find a common denominator. Not much fun, but in my expeirence one long beep is norm RAM, but as someone else said b4 it may depend on the type of board you use. Good luck.
