I've portege 3110CT notebook with cdrom attached via pc-card. Someone formatted the HDD with out making proper dirver for CDROm in the recovery disk. I've got the recovery disk with cdrom driver from somewhere else. I copied the toscdrom.sys to c:\cddrv\toscdrom.sys, added the line device=c:\cddrv\toscdrom.sys, and a line in autoexec.bat c:\mscdex /d:mscd001 /m:10.
When i boot from HDD i'm getting the error mscd001 is not found, no cdrom device driver installed.
what am i doing wrong here or what is the right way to go about it.
Thanks for your help
