I posted the other day about a few problems that I was having that I thought had to do with the worm that spread through google over the weekend. Most everything has cleared up but I still have two problems. I would appreciate some assistance please.

1) Somehow Internet Explorer is no longer my default browser. I'm not really sure what my default browser is, but IE definitely isn't! How do I re-set it to IE?

2) I never had a problem with pop-ups until after this weekend. Now I regularly get pop-ups that begin from www.look2me.com and then switch to ads for anti-virus software and other things. How do I stop or block them?

Thanks!

Daveyboy

How do I make IE my default browser?
To set Internet Explorer as your default web browser, open Internet Explorer, open the Tools menu, and choose Internet Options. In the window that comes up click on the Programs tab and check the box that says "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser." Click "OK" then close Internet Explorer and restart your computer. Once it has restarted open Internet Explorer and you will be prompted to set Internet Explorer as your default browser. Click Yes to make it the default.

As for the 2nd part of your question with regards to preventing ads, download "Ad-aware 6.0" at: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware "Ad-aware" works excellent and extemely popular and a totally free. Once you have "Adaware" downloaded make sure to update it and then run it and delete everything it finds. If you want to prevent popup ads, download "Pop-Up Stopper" at: http://www.panicware.com/product_psfree.html this is also a totally free program and it works excellent.
