A week or so ago I downloaded real audio. Since that time an illegal operations warning appeared every time I started my pc. So I decided to uninstall real audio thinking this would solve my problem ( I think the reason this problem might have begun is because I chose the wrong option when asked by the real audio download what kind of pc I use. I use an AMD k6 3d processor, but I didnt see this among the options, so I chose the one that specified a certain amount of power, 600 and something or other. Was I supposed to chose pentium class instead?) Anyway, after I had uninstalled real audio (and jukebox), the illegal operations warning was replaced by an "Error Starting Program" window that reads: A required .DLL file, PNCRT.DLL, was not found. I then click OK and the window goes away and as of yet I have'nt had any further problems. I ran systems file checker and was told that setupx.dll may be corrupted, so I over wrote it with the add option on my Windows 98 2nd edition installation disk. It didnt change the error message I get upon start up though. When I go to start> find: pncrt.dll, it brings up the file in a Temp folder. Its properties say its from Real. When I try to open it it asks me what I want to open it with. Should I simply delete this file? Why does the error message come up every time I start my pc? And finally, are AMD pc's considered pentium class?

Try moving the file to C:\Windows\Systems. SInce that is where is should be that may cure the problem. You can use start\find and type in real. This should display and remaining files that were not removed when you uninstalled. I recall finding more than usual for that one. It depends who you talk to but I do not consider AMD processors as Pentium class but I am sure many people do. You could try going to Windows updates and donwloading Directx 7.0. It may update that corrupted file and it has a great diagnostic tool that you can use to troubleshoot audio video problems. I just downloaded Windows Media Player 7.0 and it seems decent. It has lots of new features similar to Real Jukebox and IT'S FREE. Good luck and ciao for now,
