hi there,
does anyone know if there's this site...called www.giga something.com?
because, that's where i got my sound back on the puter based on the fcc or motherboard number...im not sure....but that's because my sound card is built in....it's sound blaster PCI 128.....and also one thing...i also need to d/l a driver from intel....it's an intel 740 graphics driver...when i went to the website, and looked under drivers and the operating system that i have....they have 5 options to download from....can someone help me? which of the 5 should i choose?
thank you.

It's probaby a gigabyte motherboard. Their site is www.giga-byte.com. Go to 'support' and then 'motherboards'. Look for the appropriate drivers there.
You may need to open the case to check for a model # on the motherboard first.

Go for the latest one:
PV40_9xIf you do not have a video out card then you will see errors for it in Device manager. Just ignore them for the same reason.

hi again,
thank u for all the suggestions, dave and bryco, i really appreciate your thoughts....
if i can ask you both or anyone else again....just for asking:
about 3 years ago, i bought another tower with 700MHz and sold the one old from a local vendor....the new one has windows ME and evything in it was new....back then, i had no idea that drivers were needed....like i could have asked them for the win ME driver? or soundcard/video drivers...
should i have asked for those? or they don't provide it? now.....evytime i reformat the puter, i find it a pain to not have the appropriate drivers.....
the local vendor went bankrupt and changed owners.....do u think i could still ask from them? i just need some feed back here coz i really don't know much.thank you.

Hi,
Click on start, click run and enter "DXDIAG" minus the " marks.
click OK It will display a lot of info on your computer. Just save it and print it out for reference.

The person who sold you the computer should have included a driver disk. But a search of the motherboard manufacuturer's site, card manufacturer's site or a site devoted exclusively to drivers, like www.driverguide.com will usually turn up what you need.

Once you get all your drivers together then back them up using WinDriver Backup. It is presently still free.

dear dave, bryan and jibuib,
thank you all very much once again.
dave, yes i found the website for www.giga-byte.com and have d/l the necessary driver for my sound card....music is back....thanks
bryan, and i've d/l the video driver u had suggested and it's all good, thanks
jibuib, that was a good piece of info i need, thanksbut can i ask some more?
let's say i d/l a game to play.....and they have a folder in c:programs file, even after i've uninstalled it. can i also delete the file in c: programs? would it affect the computer.....like deleting it is just an act, but some parts of it still remains in the computer?

Karen, The uninstaller should have removed it's remnants.
The only things that the uninstaller would not have removed would be the user or configuration settings files. It should not leave behind the .exe that runs the game in question. If it has then it is possibly spyware and you may need to take further steps to remove it.
Otherwise, yes, delete the folder the uninstaller has not deleted from
C:\Programs files.Bryan
