When I try to login to AOL I get a popup that says "Please turn your cookies on." I do have my cookies enabled and I still get the message. I just started getting this after I removed my Norton Antirus and Internet securities 2000. I then installed Norton antivirus 2002 and zone alarm. I went against my better judgement and installed zone alarm because I wanted some firewall protection but 1 or 2 years ago I had zone alarm installed and it screwed up my internet somehow and had to have someone fix it for me. I've completely removed NAV2002 and Zonealarm even in the registries and I still cannot log onto AOL because it says I need to enable cookies. I'm using IE5.5 and I did a repair and it still doesn't work. I f---ing hate Zonealarm. I know a few people that use it and love it and say the never had a problem with it but it always seems to f--- my computer up. Anyway, I'd really appreciate anyone's help. Thanks.

Why don't you try IE versin 6.0. It has more security features. Zone Alarm is not the problem, It's AOL. They suck, but that's just my opinion. Call their help line, that's wht you pay $23.95 a month for. I hope you understand broken english, it'll help.. Happy Thanksgiving.

Also, if you don't like ZoneAlarm, the Kerio Personal Firewall is another great free one. (one I've definitely pleased with after some ZA problems I had)

Are you sure, you have cookies enabled in AOL browser? I'm not talking about IE.

Actually its my wife's joint account she shares with her mother. I never joined AOL and never will. AOL is not loaded on our pc. She just goes to the aol home page and logs in that way. Broni, I've checked your link and I already done the one that applies to me but it still doesn't work. Grasshopper, I'll try IE6.0. In the last few days I've had IE5.0, IE5.5 and IE6.0 and each one of the have had some issues or another, but found lately that 5.5 seems to be the most stable so far. Thanks for suggestions and would appreciate anymore as well. Thanks.

You may want to call AOL to see if they can help you. I can tell you the answer will be more than likely to put the blame on something or someone else. I worked in a call center that received hundreds of calls on a daily basis about AOL and what it does to your computer. As for a firewall, you may want to try Blackice Defender. It is a lot better than Zone Alarm. As for the browser that you use, internet explorer 5.5 is a lot more stable than IE 6.0.

If your computer was ever locking up, freezing or was just shutting down when you were able to access AOL, you can contact me and I will tell you what you will need to do.

If these symptoms sound familiar, its because I heard them all day long from customers of AOL.
