Please help ahwile ago my main computer failed so i salvaged parts from all my old computers. and put it in my main one it worked. no i got everything working on my main computer so it was time to put everything back into my old machine no prob. execpt for my hard drives. they all work ive tested them in my main machine but on at least 2 of my back up computers are getting errors when i put my hard drive back in. on one its saying hard drive fail (00),floppu drive fail (00). then on my other computer its saying hard drive failure please insert system disk. but all the hard drives work. could it be that the ribbon cables are going in incorrectly i tried switching all of them around but no success any ideas. also i removed the cdrom drive on one of the computers could there be a problem with wiring. -ideas?

Suggestion, something you over looked????.
1_ Start with one HD and 1 CD Rom
2_ Call Bios up to mke sure that it reconizes
hard drive CD and Floppy
3_ Battery for CMOS OK?

Boot computer first from Floppy..

Any time you switch hard drives, enter the bios setup routine and make sure that the drive is detected correctly.

sometimes you have to enter the hard drive info maually because the bios won't see it . Just fill in the sectors..tracks ..etc should be on the label on the hard drive.
