Please Help with DirectX!

I downloaded the setup file from microsoft and everytime it goes to copy the files it ends on joystick.inf with an error saying it was unable to copy the file... i checked system properties and there are no conflicts with my joystick... any help is greatly appreciated!!

If you're saying you downloaded DirectX and the download hangs at joystick.inf at each install attempt, then I'd suggest you download the program again and then try the install.
If I misunderstood, please correct me.

assume dx9? remove joystick with win uninstall, then remove DX with dxbuster.exe try dx install, then stick. if that fails, try stick first, then DX. this worked for my logitech ff which went nuts after i used a radeod 9100 (ships w/dx9}, hope it helps for your case.

If downloading those files again doesn't work then move those files giving the errors into the c:\windows\sysbckup directory.
If that fixes the problem then you can delete those files that were causing the errors.
