Please Help!! Win 98 wont start on normal mode with dvd rom drive connected

Hi,
I installed a program called virtual drive 2.0 and my computer wouldnt start in normal mode with my dvd drive. After that I uninstalled it but kept getting the same problem. I only can start it in safe mode. It works fine with my cdrw drive. I know my drive is working because I used the win98 startup disk to reinstall windows 98 with my dvd drive and it was working, but as soon as it restarted the same problem came again. Please help,

I'm not to sure....but try unpluggin the dvd drive from the motherboard... Just pull the cords out of the dvd drive (inside the case). And if there is a cord going from the motherboard straight to the dvd without plugging into anything else then take that cord out of both the motherboard and the dvd drive. Try running the computer now, without the dvd connect, if it starts up fine and all then you've probably just got to re-arrange the way the dvd is connected to the motherboard.
