Please help Missing .vxd , dll files driving me crazy

for a few day's now i have been getting a message telling me that the following files are missing when i boot up... nwlink.vxd nwredir.vxd nscl.vxd vredir.vxd nwnp32.dll msnp32.dll
sound familier???
i tried to reinstall the program that i had just installed when i discovered the problem but no luck i have searched the disk for the files and still no luck.
can anyone put me out of my misery and tell me what to do?????

Those files are required by networking software. Therefore you should install netweroking (Client for Microsoft Networks and Novell Networks). Complete that installation, then delete the network clients again... That should fix it...

When those particular vxd files and msnp32.dll come up with errors it occurs in the networking files in windows o/s. The vxd files can be pulled of a 95/98 disk and replaced in c:/windows/system files. Be sure to enable folder options to show all files. To reconnect the system to msnp32.dll go to network settings in the control panel and remove then reinstall all client and protocol settings. Let me know if this helps or doesn't. Al

RE Missing PNCRT.DLL - try this: Go to Start -> Run Type: extract PNCODEC.CAB /e Hit "OK" A strange black window will appear briefly. Restart your PC. If this doesn't work - sell your PC and buy a Mac! ;-)

the best way to fix all these problems, without having to install copies of the files, or replace corrupt files in dos( as you cannot replace file that windows is running in windows) is to reinstall your copy of windows from windows this should help your system in mare ways than one by cleaing the regestory and retuning your file system it won't change your settings or erase any fo your data, if installed over the top of the same OS this really its pretty quick and easy and will solve amass of probs

this problem used to be so easy to solve by just removing the dll checker link from the win.ini "if .DLL" or system.ini "if .VXD" but it doesn't work any more with win98 second edition. I think there is another file that has the links, try to find it
