This situation is a bit complex but I've managed to gather as much info as I can find, I just need help figuring out how to use it.
I have a noname WinModem that I've lost the drivers for. It's a Conexant SoftK56 Speaker PCI modem based on the Conexant (previously Rockwell) HSF chipset. The box for the modem just calls it a "V.90 PCI MMX Modem". Now I was able to get it working under Windows 2000 with some Beta-2 Zoltrix Cobra modem drivers (newer versions won't work), but I need to reinstall Windows 98. I tried the Zoltrix Win98 driver but no luck. I also tried some HSF drivers by Amquest, Puretek and Sysgration, they would seem to install properly but whenever I try using the modem I get a blue screen of death.
In Windows 2000 the modem installs on COM 3 IRQ 11, but in Win 98 it gets installed on COM 5 IRQ 11. I think the drivers I've tried might work if only I can get the modem to install on COM 3 but I don't know how to change it.
Could someone please help me identify the possible maker of my modem and help me find some working Win 98 drivers for it. Also if anyone knows how to force a modem onto a different COM port that might make one of the current drivers I've tried work properly.
Below is my system information as well as detailed info I found on the modem itself. I don't know which parts might be useful so I've included it all

I think this will help you find everything you need to know about your modem.
In 1998, Rockwell spun off its semiconductor systems business into a new public company,
Conexant Systems, Inc. Information related to drivers or support for modems with Rockwell
or Conexant chipsets can be obtained at http://www.conexant.com/products/modems.asp">

my modem is conexant RS56-PCI but I don't have the driver for Windows 98 Second Edition.
Thanks in advance
