This annoying program arrived on my PC from installing MSN messenger 4.5
As suspected, uninstalling messenger did not remove it.
Can someone tell me how to safely dispose of this irritating program.thanks

Click START - RUN, type in MSCONFIG, then click OK - STARTUP. If the program is listed there, uncheck it, click APPLY - OK, then reboot your computer. It will no longer load during startup and run in the background.

loadqm.exe is a program that query the ip 207.46.226.17. If your visit this ip as http connection, your found that it is windows update service. What you can do is take it out of start up and that should help.

I already tried the msconfig one.
It seems to be one of those extra annoying ones that wont go away that method.

the easy way is: find out what is going on with pview95.exe and then rename the file you dont want to be running. (I have pview95.exe.)

Get "StartCop" from PC Magazine. It's free. What it does is display all software that is loaded through registry commands. You can disable or permanently remove annoying software such as the spyware program Gator and software like what you're talking about. Often, trying to uninstall spyware will result in a frozen computer. Disabling it with StartCop first then allows you to either uninstall or just ignore it.

Hi, it is easy.
delete or rename c:\windows\LoadQM.exe
run msconfig and remove it from the startup.
You wont hear or see it again.Hope This Helps you solve your problem.

The file you describe belongs to a program called Quality Manager, which is automatically installed on your computer if you use either MSN Explorer or MSN Messenger. Its purpose is to provide Microsoft with data about how well or how poorly those two programs are doing their jobs.
The Zone Alarm alerts are happening because the firewall software is detecting attempts by Quality Manager to transmit information about MSN Explorer and Messenger back to Microsoft.
If you'd like to disable Quality Manager and prevent it from accessing the Internet, you can do so without causing any problems in Explorer or Messenger.
With Windows 98 or Me, the easiest way to disable Quality Manager is to go to Start/Run and type MSCONFIG in the blank. In the window that appears, select the StartUp tab, then remove the check mark in the box next to LoadQM.
Quality Manager also can be disabled from within MSN Explorer. Just click the Help & Settings button on the tool bar, select Privacy/Service Quality Monitoring and remove the check mark next to the option labeled "Send Quality Monitoring Information." Apply the changes and restart.
